The surfing lessons will be held at one of two beaches on South Harris depending on conditions. The event meeting place is the new centre at Talla na Mara, Pairc Niseaboist. The centre has toilets and shower and a cafe/restaurant.
Surf Lewis will be running the lessons using British Surf Association trained coaches who are experienced watermen and will find the best conditions for you to learn and have fun.
Surf lessons. The lesson is an ABC structured lesson approved by the British Surfing Association. Taking you from a complete beginner to a stage where you will be standing up (or attempting to anyway!).
You will learn about beach safety and awareness, surf equipment, how to find the correct position on the board, paddling technique, how to get through the waves, how to catch waves and finally how to stand up.

Stand up paddle boarding Stand Up Paddle Boarding or SUP for short is a unique and easily accessible sport to learn. Imagine peacefully cruising along the surface of the water while standing up, enjoying the Hebridean Scenery and spotting local wildlife. The experience itself is a cross between surfing and kayaking, it's origins are in Hawaii. You are standing on a large surfboard, while using a long paddle to push you along. This is surprisingly easy to master after a bit of professional tuition.
