The Taste of Taransay is a unique chance to sample simply the finest, freshest produce in the Hebrides.
Borve Lodge Estate have teamed up with Harris's top chef and owner of Flavour, Chris Loye to offer an amazing experience for the budding gastronome. You will collect and cook all the ingredients during the day, nothing will have traveled further than 10 miles from field to fork.
This unique day will start with a short boat trip to the island of Taransay where you will be shown around the highlights of the island and the native red deer herd. On the way back to the main land you will stop and lift a few creels and collect lobsters or crabs.
Once back to Borve lodge you will be be met by chef Chris Loye who will show you the deer larder and how to select the best cuts of venison. You will also visit the vegetable garden and pick the best of the crop.
It now time to get in the kitchen and cook up a feast! Chris will show you how to prepare everything that you have gathered during the day, from cleaning shellfish to presentation.
